As a female business owner, Women’s History Month holds a significant place in my heart and in my business journey. It serves as a reminder of the many trailblazing women who have shaped industries, overcome adversity, and paved the way for the next generation of female entrepreneurs. Celebrating this month is not just about acknowledging the achievements of women in the past but also about empowering the women of today to continue breaking barriers.
This month also reminds me to reflect on the challenges I’ve faced, not just as a business owner for 10 years but throughout my career, from knowing my worth to ensuring I have a seat at the table, breaking stereotypes, and creating opportunities for advancement. These experiences continue to shape how I show up daily, my leadership style, and the culture I foster within my female-powered company.
When we meet as a team, I look around at everyone and remember that each of us has a different story, including our upbringing and family background, which shapes how we show up for one another as well as for our clients and partners. These perspectives as women are critically important to our work in the community.

Women’s History Month also offers an invaluable chance for us to support one another. Many female entrepreneurs, especially those who are just starting, often feel isolated or unsupported. By highlighting the stories of successful women, we not only celebrate their achievements but also create a network of inspiration. For me, it’s been crucial to have a community of strong, driven women who share their experiences, offer advice, and push one another to grow.

It’s why I serve on the Vegas Chamber Executive Women’s Council Steering Committee and the International Women’s Forum Nevada chapter, where every time we gather, I am inspired by so many! Later this month, I will also be speaking with a panel of incredible women at The Shade Tree’s Women’s Champagne and Pearls Brunch.

Finally, Latinas in Power, a professional network of Latinas across Nevada, is incredibly near and dear to me as its founder. We have created a one-of-a-kind space to come together, help elevate and open doors for one another, and celebrate what makes our culture and Latinas special.

Lastly, as a female business owner, a proud Latina, and a mother, Women’s History Month is a call to action for the future. It serves as a reminder that the work is far from done. While we’ve come a long way, there are still many barriers women face in the business world—whether it’s access to funding, gender biases, or balancing work-life commitments.
It is up to us to continue the fight for equality, to mentor the next generation, and to ensure that women’s voices are always heard in the business arena. Women’s History Month encourages reflection, but it also pushes us to look forward and keep striving for progress.
I would love to hear from you and connect! What organizations do you support that help amplify the power of women’s stories? Or who is another amazing woman who inspires you?
